A nuclear-hardened communications tower and bunker, known by the codename 'Cartwheel,' is hidden in plain site at Fort Reno Park in the Tenleytown neighborhood of Washington, DC, USA, 21 March 2018. Built atop the highest point in DC, Cartwheel was one of a network of towers secretly built during the Cold War to facilitate communications between the White House and other continuity of government facilities, such as Raven Rock and Mount Weather, in the event of a nuclear disaster. The tower has since been deactivated.
